GM Bankrupt?

The car giant GM is on the brink of becoming bankrupt even though they have already received a 20 billion dollar government bailout. The CEO of General Motors does not want to receive yet another bailout so they have purposed a plan to axe several popular brands that they make including Pontiac, Hummer, Saturn and Saab. I don't know how you get 20 billion dollars and still are about to go bankrupt. But that's just me.

Flooding in Fargo

Today, the Red River has reached record heights of water. The majority of the people in the cities of Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota were forced to evacuate from by the danger of the Red River flooding. A strange thing is that people were asked to clog there drains. They had to do that because they had sewers that emptied into the river but like from above the river. Now the flood water is over the drains and is starting to cause problems within the cities. Hundreds of volunteers have pile sandbags in Fargo and the places that the levies can't cover in M0orhead. I say that because Moorhead has levies and Fargo dosen't. It was declared a federal disaster zone by President Obama.

AIG Bailout

A while ago insurance giant AIG released that they lost 61.7 billion dollars in the quarter. That is the biggest loss in history! I mean to even have that much money is amazing, bu to lose that much money in just wrong. Then the government gave them a 85 billion dollar bailout about a week ago. Then now AIG is giving 100 million dollars of bonuses to the CEO's. It hardly seems right that they couldn't stay alive without government money and now this. President Obama is now trying to find a legal way to stop this bonus. The leader says that it required to give these bonuses.

Blagojevich is Out!

Last Thursday Rod Blagojevich was overwhelmingly voted to be impeached from ever being in the senate again in Illinois. The Illinois house voted 114-1 for his impeachment. Just to make this clear the one vote for him not being impeached was himself voting. The Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn will be taking his seat in the senate. The Lieutenant Governor for Pat Quinn is still vacant. Some how he was surprised when he got voted out. In case you don't know Rod Blagojevich was impeached because he was trying to President Obama's empty senate seat. There was no argument because they had a tape of him trying to sell the vacant senate seat.

War in Gaza

After about a week around Christmas when Gaza was sending rockets into Israel, Israel finally responded by flood troops in to the tiny nation and bombing Gaza's largest city Gaza City. While Israel was in Gaza, Lebanon take the opportunity by bombing Israel from the north. I think that Gaza setting it up so Israel looks like a big mean country when Gaza was just pushing Israel buttons. I heard that Gaza's main base is under a hospital so Israel like can't attack them with out being slugged by the world media.

Today after the inaugural lunch-in Senator Ted Kennedy collapsed and what they said looked like a seizure. Senator Kennedy had a seizure about 3-months ago and had surgery for a brain tumor. Kennedy and was a major help in President Obama campaign.

Anyway the Pittsburg Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens 23 to 14. The game changer was when safety Troy Polamalu caught an interception to seal their lead in the 4th quarter. They will play on February 1st in Tampa Bay, Florda. I think that the Cardinals will win. Or at least want them to.

Hudson River Crash

Last Thursday US jetliner crashes into the the Hudson River. The plane left from New York, New York headed for Charlotte, North Carolina. Eyewitnesses said that seconds from lift-off both engines were hit by a flock of Canadian geese. Then former Air-Force pilot Captain C.B Sullenburg made a split-second decision to land in the frigid Hudson River. Nearly missing the busy George Washington Bridge. All 151 opened the middle door and waited on the wings until water taxi rescued them of the plane. All 151 passengers survived.
I think that it was hard but they are over reacting about it. The plane was probably filled with a whole bunch of rich New Yorkers. But that's my opinion.
